The Queenie Shirt Jacket in seasonal Terracotta from our Spring Summer Collection is made from a *Belgian Linen™ and cotton blend, certified with the *Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex® and sustainably sourced. This slightly cropped jacket features a classic collar, buttoning down the body and two oversized flap pockets at the face. Finished with deep cuffs and buttons on each. Made in Australia.
The queenie is made from a coated 56% Linen and 44% cotton. This fabrication is milled in Belgium and carries the Belgian Linen™ quality label. Only 6 weavers around the world carry the same certification which is one that is stringent in ensuring the quality of flax. Flax is a sustainable fibre that is cultivated organically without the need for irrigation, GMOs or fertilizers. Belgian linen is breathable, allergen-free, and long-lasting, not breaking down after use but instead getting softer with age. To colour this linen, the mill uses a historical technique of priming the linen and then directly painting the textile. This gives the quality a plastered effect. The fabrication has also been certified with the Standard 100 by Okeo-Tex®and has been produced in a mill that uses Seanergy - which guarantees that all energy used by the factory is produced entirely by wind turbines ensuring the company is completely CO2 Neutral.
*Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex® is a guarantee that these garments have been processed without harmful chemicals, and are therefore safe for human health and the environment too.
*The Belgian Linen™ label stands for linen fabrics that are woven in Belgium with European flax yarn. To obtain this label the linen fabric has to be woven in Belgium and at least 85% of the weight of the flax used has to be natural flax fibres of EU-origin.
